Inter-College Sports play an important part in the lives of many MCMC students. Since there are many different sports teams catering for all levels of experience and commitment at the university, that means there is a chance for everyone to get involved: seasoned players are able to shine and beginners can try out new activities in a welcoming, easily accessible environment. At the higher level, some MCMC athletes enter the top division and consistently compete for league and championships .
Among the ten Colleges in UM, MC Canaries are able to enter more than one team into various sporting events organised by Office of Sports Affairs (OSA) and Committee for Inter-College Affairs (CICA). This offers valuable opportunities for more students to become more involved, and represent MCM College, at the same time, taking part in the social side of sport. The Canaries are well-known for their sense of solidarity and team spirit!
In addition, a number of students compete at University level, ranging from Inter-University Football League to National Swimming Championships, across to new sports such as Kin-Ball and Korfball. 'Half-Blues' are awarded each year by the College Master to a small number of elite level athletes for sporting prowess and leadership.
MCM College is well-equipped with an on-site Fitness Room, and offers free use of the facility.
MCMC has a vibrant sporting scene which is inclusive, fun and friendly, and aims for significant success in the years to come.
