RUNNING: Inter-College Round-Campus 10K Run
In order to promote healthy living, teamwork and also a more integral campus life, the Inter-College Committee (ICC) held its first UM Inter-College Round Campus Run on Saturday, 21 November, 2015
The starting point began outside the main entrance of Island One, where the first batch of athletes ran to the intersection of S27. At the second stretch, another batch of athletes took over and ran along the Staff Quarters, and upon reaching the checkpoint at S28, they turned round and headed back for S27. The final stretch was to return to the starting point.
The distance of the circuit was approximately 3.5km, but since the race covered 3 laps, each college fielded a team of 9 athletes (6 men and 3 women) to cover a total distance of 10.5km.
Colleagues from Campus Service (CS) and Security and Transport Section (STS) played an important role in blocking one lane of Alumni Avenue, and one lane of the road surrounding staff quarters.
MCMC Team completed the race and crossed the finish line, clocking in 37 minutes and 5 seconds. The team was awarded 3rd place, behind CYTC (Winners) and SHEAC (runners’ up).
